To Ron: I can relate to your comment regarding days of the week. The only things that keep me focused on that part of the calendar now are my volunteer schedule at the local food bank and the church bells that I can hear if I'm put and about on Sunday morning. Then I get all confused when the carillonneur practises during the week. 😬

To Ed: At least you have a carillonneur playing the real thing. I lived in a small town once where the new Methodist Church minister put speakers in their steeple and played recorded chimes daily at five, a pretty tacky sound. They quit the ringing for good on hearing the town joke was that when people heard the church bells they knew that they had one hour to get to the State whiskey store before it closed. If anyone thinks small rural towns are non-drinkers of booze, think again.
