Hi Ron: Do you think the we are doing all this to ourselves? We strip the forests, burn the Amazon, poison our lakes, rivers, streams and oceans, over fish to extinction and over hunt as well. The north pacific ocean is so acidic it is eating holes in the shells of crabs! The polar ice caps and glaciers are melting in rapid speed and the earths atmosphere is heating up to where it was during the time of the dinosaurs. People are being displaced as nations are disappearing under the rising oceans causing over crowding and diseases to run rampant.

Food for thought, save mankind and destroy a planet or destroy mankind and save a planet with multiple species that do not destroy itself. -David

Dear David: Thanks for the thoughtful letter with which I cannot disagree. In other times, people would have said it was a god punishing us. I think it more likely we are punishing ourselves by breaking, abusing, and raping the laws of nature. This old world will be here long after humans (like the dinosaurs) are erased and forgotten. Anyone who is a participant in killing nature's (or God's) world does not love, honor, or obey the highest of principles, religious or secular. One of the first things we teach little children is first not to play with fire and instead how to use it safely. Humans have been long playing with fire like infants, and now the fires of nature are about to burn us severally.
