For those of us involved it was a long, bitter, and some times tragic struggle for setting aside century long prejudices and getting the votes for making a national holiday for Dr. King.

You have to wonder how long, if ever, it will be before there is a national holiday for gay people of all colors who have battled against wide spread prejudice. Social equality and advancement are always an uphill struggle against political, social, and even religious opposition. Let's have an appreciative thought for Dr. King today and be inspired to press on for world wide enlightenment of all people's rights.
