Carol Channing died this week at 97. She was not only one of the brightest stars on the Broadway Stage, she was a friend of gay people and their gifts, worth, and rights in our society.

Why is it that actors in movies and the theater are almost always gay friendly? Because they work with them every day and know them. Gay people dress them, put on their makeup, do their hair, direct them, and often write both their lines and their music. Think what a movie or a stage play would look like without the talented behind the scene gay people.

Thank you, Carol, for making the most of your talent and supporting the gay people who made it possible.
