From the News Wires: "Open Doors, the biggest charity of its kind in London is offering help to older LGBTI people feel less isolated with social events and volunteers who visit them at home. Running social events such as coffee and cake, card games and theatre trips, as well as a befriending service, the charity provides older LGBTI men and women with a safe space they can socialise without judgement on their sexuality or gender."

It is long over due that we start looking into the needs of this segment of older people. The gay people who rioted at Stonewall are now retired and facing new challenges in a society that is often as alien as it was when they were twenty-one and fighting for equal treatment. Do not hold your breath before the current US Administration to make any moves toward answering the unique problems of gay older people. This will be a movement that the gay community must support and bring to public attention.
