India to Broadcast Its First Ever Gay TV Series

(From rapidtvnews.com) Web TV series "All About Section 377" is set to gain a wider audience and a place in Indian broadcasting history as NDTV prepares to air the country's first TV series highlighting LGBT issues.

All About Section 377 India stillTaking its name from the Indian Penal Code's Section 377, which criminalises homosexuality, director Amit Khanna's eight-episode Web series is now being remade for television. Not only is its subject matter a first for a fictional TV series in India, it is also the first time a Web series has been picked up by a national broadcaster.

The lighthearted programme, produced by The Creative Gypsy, explores the relationship between a homophobic man who moves into the Mumbai home of his gay cousin (played by Amit Khanna) and his boyfriend.
