From Metro News: "The Green Man and his boyfriend are not breaking up. In fact, they're ready to make their relationship more permanent. Gay traffic light filters, installed in June for this year's London Pride, are here to stay, Transport for London has confirmed.

"The fabulous traffic lights were brought in at 50 pedestrian crossings near Trafalgar Square. They include two men and two women holding hands and forming a heart, and various gender symbols including a transgender sign. Despite being intended for Pride, they have been in place for the last three months, with no plans to bring them down.

[However, there has been some confusing and amusing comments, as you would expect from UK wits. Said one out of town tourist:] "When the light went green I saw the two female symbols and I thought, 'Oh right, so my missus can cross with my little girl but what do me and the boy do?' "
