The Hilton Hotel cooperation is finally admitting by advertisement that gay people do sleep together in their rooms. To make sure everyone got the message, they showed two men happily together in a bed in "Travel and Leisure Magazine."

Anti gay money grabbing groups like the 'Family" Association saw it as yet another opportunity to hustle more money out of their followers. In a self righteous protest against Hilton the 'family' group wrote: "Travel and Leisure isn't a gay-specific magazine sent directly to homosexual's homes. It's a widely distributed mainstream publication that can be found in many public places such as doctors' or auto repair waiting rooms."

Yes, in all those places gay people live, work, play, and read -just as they do in all places in the USA. Again, here is an age old demand to claim for "true believers" ownership of all public spaces. Since secular governments now protect gay people from being hang or burned at the stake by religious groups, the religious anti gay organizations still try to demand that gay people be as invisible as possible.

Sorry, but that's not going to happen. Freedom means having all the rights for gay people that straight people have enjoyed for the 240 years of US history. Two gay people in bed is no better or worse than a heterosexual couple smiling at each other shown in thousands of advertisements. Yeah, we know why they are smiling in bed: for the same reason gay people smile.
