Just when you think that American Society is making advances into the 21st Century, there are events that leave us wondering. As I write these words the Republican National Convention in Detroit is showcasing homophones taking gay bashing to a whole new level and ugliness. Most intelligent people understand that this is a political party satisfying their lowest element by throwing them raw meat. The question is why do the intelligent Republican stand for it?

The damage is that while the majority of people know when politicians are just shooting the B. S. But most ignorant people do not, and they take the vile homophobic remarks as gospel truth and start looking for ways to act on them.

After the mass murdering of 49 gay people last month in his state, a Florida School Principal posted an article on Face Book quoting an antiquated Bible verse saying that men who have sex men must to be put death. Then the homophobic principal said that the verse said MUST not should be put to death. Are we to believe that if given a chance, he would have all gay people executed -all 20 million? Would he also have witches burned and straight people who commit adultery be stoned, or does he think that all divorced people are going to hell as said by Jesus?

The thing is that when we hear televangelists and politicians at national conventions saying stupid, hateful things, it fuels the fire of hatred among the very ignorant, even if they are supposedly educated school principal. The seed of hate sown this week in Cleveland will mature into future tragedies of gay people, and none of the current hate mongers will feel any remorse.
