At some point in ageing, one day we realize that we can only see our crotch in the mirror. Something is blocking a direct view. It's our tummy.

One of the main beliefs about the Greek God Apollo was that he was a god of good health -not to mention music, the arts, theater etc. After the biggest feast day, Apollo could always see his crotch. (Check out his statue at left.)

If you are interested in keeping a youthful look, not to mention a healthy body and a longer life, you don't need to buy a bathroom scale. Just try to see your crotch every day without bending over 90 degrees. For those of us over 65 years this becomes a harder task with the passing of every year, but it is a task we must undertake seriously or the years will stop passing and we'll be in a place where we can't see our crotch or anything else.

No one knows his last day, but that day can be pushed to a more distant time if we take care of the "shell" of our existence. These hot days of summer would be a good time to start eating lite and filling up on fresh vegetables and fruits. Another way to think about it is that if you can't see your crotch, maybe no one else will want to look at it either. Good luck on a healthier body.
