Following the US Supreme Court's ruling on same sex marriage, you don't know whether to laugh or cry at politicians these days. Some have gone off the edge of sanity.

In Dent County, Missouri, all three members of the board of supervisors voted to lower flags "below half-staff" for a year, in protest to the Court ruling. First, WTF is "below half-staff" all about? Maybe they believed their flag pole is some kind of yard stick to gauge their disapproval? Apparently, these dunderheads thought they could just make up flag rules at their leisure.

Push back came swiftly from the community in general and military people specifically who explained to the supervisors that there is a U. S. Flag Military Code that regulates when the United States Flag may be lowered, and nowhere in the code can the flag be used to protest a political view or used at the whim of any elected official.

The Dent County citizens gathered a 1000 signatures against lowing the flag, and in a quickly called meeting. the chastened supervisors reversed their decision.
