Shannon Grove told a group at a pro-life banquet last week that she knows how to end the four year drought that is plaguing her state. It's so easy and strange that no one has thought of this before. Her answer: Stop Abortion. Her view was that if California would implement strict abortion laws like the 20 week ban in Texas, God would be happy and the rains would come.

The Bible totting law maker did not say, but maybe we could cure cancer, end the conflict in the Middle East, and stop world hunger where a child starves to death every five seconds if we went back to sacrificing cows, lambs. or turtle doves in Jerusalem.

Ms Grove did not give her views on gay people, but I suspect she had a simple and effective answer: Stone them, as per a 2500 year old priestly belief.

Religion is a good thing when it inspires people to perform noble and selfless acts, but when it makes people bat shit crazy, you have to wonder if the gods and saints have given up on mankind.
