Ben Carson, a Republican with his eyes on the 2016 elections, said last that being gay was a choice, and not a biological or genetic reason. He gave as his proof that when straight men serve time in prison. they come out gay. Ergo, they chose to be gay in prison.

While it is true that straight me do have homosexual relationships in jail, the reason is not one of choice but of force. It hardly follows that a man who is given the choice of a cock or a knife in his mouth or ass, the sane choice is a cock, but forced rape hardly makes a straight man embrace gay sex as a way of life. He does what he has to do to survive and returns to his sexual preference when his jail time is ended.

Why would a politicians say such a thing to begin with when it flies against every scientific studies that show being gay is not a choice and can't be "cured." The operative word here is "scientific," a thing that everybody who gets his "science" from the books and Fox "Views," instead of his State's University is inclined to denigrate the legitimate findings of scientific investigation.

Ben Carson has tried to walk back his stupid comment and promised to say no more about gay issues. Would that more uninformed politicians, people, and preachers would do the same.
