To Ron: I just wanted you to know that our church accepts all people for membership regardless of their sexual orientation. Not all the church people are like the sign waving fanatics.

From Ron: You are absolutely right, and I thank you for reminding us that the mainline churches in the US are becoming more gay friendly every year. Hardly a yearly conference meeting of a major protestant church (excepting the Baptists and Catholics) goes by without the denomination enacting more gay friendly laws and rules to their order.

The problem, of course, is that when the Presbyterians, for example, vote to allow gay clergymen, it makes page six of the news and not at all on CNN, but when an insane preacher of a minor sect pickets funerals, it gets national headlines. Shakespeare had one of his characters say: "First, kill all the lawyers." If he were alive today, he would change that that to "news channel talking heads."
