Dear Doctor, I have had several episodes of blood in urine in the past four months. They occur at irregular intervals. I don't believe its related to my sexual activity as it can happen when I have been inactive for a week..I have been put on sulfa antibiotic, two different times, to correct the infection but it reoccurred. I had a penile pump implant three years ago with no problems resulting from that. Do you have any suggestions what I should do next? A Friend

Dear Friend, You definitely need to be evaluated by a Urologist who will check your kidneys and bladder for sources of blood in the urine. The causes can range from cancer in the kidneys, bladder, or prostate to many benign causes like an enlarged prostate or urinary tract infection. However, just treating hematuria (blood in the urine, either visible or microscopic) with an antibiotic isn't enough. Please contact your primary care provider to make a referral, or make a self-referral if you can. Please let me know, through Ron and Hector, what you find out. It may help other men here, too.

Hi, Doctor, I am having "Performance Anxiety" when I get with my men. At home I can get good erections, stiff and hard like a brick, and can j/o for several minutes enjoying the pleasures, and sometimes cum and sometimes not. Once you are sure that you can achieve a good erection, your confidence level will improve an you may not need medication any longer. With performance anxiety, success breeds success, and failure breed more anxiety and avoidance.
