In September of last year former US President Jimmy Carter came out in full support of the gay community. More than a decade after leaving the Southern Baptist Convention and five years after publicly denouncing the Bible's teaching of wives submitting to their husbands, former President Jimmy Carter has stepped up a notch by stating that Jesus wouldn't judge or condemn homosexual behavior. (Above: Photo of Carter and quote before Gay Marriage was legal in US)

In fact, Carter has gone as far as to say that God looks at people's sexual orientation in the same way he looks at their skin color and financial status.

"I never knew of any word or action of Jesus Christ that discriminated against anyone because of who they were," Carter proclaimed last week. "And the sexual orientation of a person is just like the color of their skin or whether they are poor or rich or whether they live in a foreign country or our country."

Now the soon to be 90 year old Carter is supporting same sex marriage, saying:

"I believe Jesus would. I don't have any verse in scripture. I believe Jesus would approve gay marriage, but that's just my own personal belief. I think Jesus would encourage any love affair if it was honest and sincere and was not damaging to anyone else, and I don't see that gay marriage damages anyone else."

These comments by the Southern Baptist Church's former most famous member and Sunday School teacher caused righteous wrath in the largest US Protestant Church, and its leadership cried apostasy and many condemned him to their mythical hell.
