HPV - Posted on: Feb 27, 2010 14:58:17
I recently had anal warts and am not sure how i have gotten it. I only had oral sex with 1 person and was sure he did not have it then. Maybe he did but it did not show any signs at that time. Anyway, i am in the process of having it treated by freezing the warts.I have a few questions about it. 1) Am i a carrier now? Can a person get it from me from kissing me? 2) Since its anal warts, if a person does not go near the anal area, can he still get it? 3) After treatment, is that area still contagious? 4) If i touch the area and then touch it anywhere else on by body, can those parts develop the warts? 5) After it clears, can i still get the HPV or do i have immunity to it from now on |

My goodness HPV - are these not questions for your health care professional. I'm not saying that our informing as a layman is not valid, but I would not hesitate for one moment in asking such questions from he who supposedly knows. Go for it! |

I knew someone was going to say that. I did ask but the physician was a foreigner and he did not really answer my questions well, so i thought i tried it here. |

Go to a walk in clinic in that case. Someone will be able to give you professional advice! |

VGHC, I would suggest that you talk to your doctor personally. You need to get tested and to be sure that you are not carrying HPV or any other gay related diseases including HIV. You also need to ask the person who you had oral sex with to get himself tested too. I'm sorry this happened to you, but you have raised a good issue. Best wishes |
