To Ron: I couldn't get on Apollo for a couple of on Tuesday around lunch time EDT. (At Right: Hector and Ron)
From Ron: The phone company must have been on lunch break. It took them a couple of hours to fix a line.
To Ron: In the Newsletter email, it said September instead of October Newsletter.
From Ron: Yes, my mistake, but when you click on September, you get the right Newsletter.
To Ron: On "Group Think" in the October Newsletter, it sounds like you were raised in the same type of environment as I was. Anything you did could be corrupt or evil. Coming from Western Michigan, where there were so many Dutch people that belonged to the Christian Reform church, I know from close experience. An example, when TV first came out, they declared it evil and no one should have one. A few years went by, and then their new minister put a TV antenna on the house. It was within weeks that all the other Dutch people put TV antenna's on their roofs. They all are such hypocrites.
From Ron: Hypocrites or maybe in this case just behind the curve.
To Ron: Thank you in a very special way of what I've been trying to say about my life. When I looked at the October newsletter and saw what you wrote, it was like you wrote precisely of what I've been trying to explain to many people for years of what I've been through in the Baptist ministry.
Yea, there are some real baptist group ministries out there that are true to God and the Bible, but there are some that truly are scary and of course, everyone in that ministry does fall into "Group think." It's worse in the deaf ministry world as I found out the hard way in life.
So, thank you in a way from my heart. It's a message that I'm trying to reach others and tell them when a religious pastor is too controlling, it takes courage to say it's okay to walk away to get your head clear. Thanks, Ron -Steve
