To Ron: It's appalling that someone should send such an insulting message to Apollo Network! I suppose we have to put that in context with the absurd rantings at "town hall meetings" and even in the halls of Congress. Your website is undoubtedly one of the best FREE sites on the Internet fulfilling a serious purpose. Thank you, thank you for all you do to make Apollo a remarkable resource for information and entertainment for the older gay man, particularly those of us who are or were married. -John (At Right: Man carrying sign calling the Christian President a Muslim and choosing a Fox News celebrity over an elected U.S. President.)
To John: Thank you for your good words. They are deeply appreciated. To quote scripture (on this Sunday Morning) "Man shall not live by bread alone."
I am mystified at all this anger and hatred afloat in the "Christian American" older generation. Where was this rage when we were losing 65,000 young lives in a lost war in Viet Nam? Where was this outcry while a former President and Congress spent two billion dollars a week for six years in Iraq and brought our country to bankruptcy? Why is there not rage against the failed banks that take our money and pay out billions of dollars in bonuses to the employees who bankrupted the companies?
I'm not defending the health bill. It's 1200 pages of complications beyond my understanding. I'm just wondering: How all these middle aged people know that it is wrong? Where they are getting their information? And why they are so violently uncouth about it? I did not think I would ever have to say this on Apollo, but it's time for angry Americans to get back to the basic teachings of their religions, assuming these people have any.
