To Ron: I hope it's not too late to post a response to the Jehovah Witnesses letters.
After years of trying to be polite, and listening to long drawn out bullcrap, I discovered the answer to the problem. I simply invited them in, and as soon as they asked the inevitable:
"You do believe in the Bible, don't you?"
I replied: "No, as a matter of fact, I don't believe a word of that book, from beginning to end. I respect your right to believe anything you like, but you must also respect my right not to believe in it. Since I don't want to waste your time, please notify your headquarters not to call on this address in the future, OK?"
They even thanked me for being so nice about it! I haven't been bothered since. -Ray
From Ron: This is exactly how I deal with tele-market calls, especially at dinner time. I tell them not to ever call again.
