Did Arizona Governor and Secretary Gates read the Apollo Article?
Posted by: Ron @ Saturday, May 1st 2010 @ 09:45:48 AM EST

When I got this morning and looked at CNN on line, I realized that what I had written on Thursday about Arizona's laws being illegal, and what I had said about gays serving in the military had apparently been read by Arizona Governor Jan Brewer and Secretary of Defense Robert Gates. By their actions, I know that they read Apollo and reacted immediately. (At Right: Arizona Governor. An Apollo reader?)

Yesterday Governor Brewer was able to sign some changes into the new draconian immigration laws of that great state. The old laws, which I humbly pointed out on Apollo, were unconstitutional in general and profiling in particular. Alas, the governor only changed the profiling segment and assured everyone that now there would be no profiling. What a laugh! Supposedly, the AZ police will not stop a man on the streets in Phoenix if he is dark skinned, riding a burro, and wearing a sombrero. Tell that to the marines, Jan.

Speaking of the marines, Secretary of Defense Robert Gates pronounced that there should be no change in Don't Ask; Don't Tell in the US Military. Bobby probably did not have to read the Apollo posting as he has been against letting tax paying gay people serve and die for their country ever since he held the same position under the former president. Say, why does he still have his old job? Are there no qualified Democrats that the current president could choose to run the military? Is he thinking of giving his own job to a Republican come 2012?

Finally, just in case the US President is reading Apollo this morning, I'm wondering if he is so intent on keeping Robert Gates as his secretary of defense, why doesn't he give Michael D. Brown his old job back as head of FEMA now that the New Orleans area is about to be dropped kick by an oil slick. Brown did such a great job (or so GWB said) when Katrina struck. Let's see what he will do with an oil slick the size of a state. (Later GWB fired Brown as someone other than elected politicians had to take the blame for the biggest debacle in US history.)

Note from Ron: To those do not like farce, I know the above people do not actually read Apollo. But what do they read that keeps in a loop of stupid actions and reactions?
