For the first time, New York City's St. Patrick's Day parade, the biggest in the world, will allow a gay group to participate with a banner of its own next year. Previously, gay groups had only been allowed to join in combination with other groups, and their identification had to be kept quiet. Imagine. Gays in the city with the largest gay population in the world were refused permission to participate in this New York icon festival.
Above is New York Mayor Blasio attending the gay friendly St. Patrick's Day Parade in The Queens. Next year he will be able to march with gay people in Manhattan.
