Mirror, Mirror, on the Wall, Which is the Gayest US City of All?
Posted by: Ron @ Thursday, January 12th 2012 @ 08:58:13 AM EST

Using a method based on criteria other than a nose count, the gay magazine "The Advocate," has determined that its own home town, San Francisco, is not the gayest city in the US. Moreover, neither San Francisco nor New York City made the top 50.

And what city topped the list? Hold on to your religious underwear. Salt Lake City, epicenter of the Mormon Church, was named number one gay city in the US. (At Right: Two gay Mormon Missionaries who never came knocking at my door. I always got the straight ones.)

This will be hard to believe, but the truth is that when religious tyranny governs sexual behavior, namely forbidding premarital sex or celebrity in the clergy, "nature finds a way," and usually, the "way" is with same-sex partners.

Here's are the Advocates top ten us gay cities:

1. Salt Lake City, Utah
2. Orlando, Fla.
3. Cambridge, Mass.
4. Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
5. Seattle
6. Ann Arbor, Mich.
7. St. Paul-Minneapolis, Minn.
8. Knoxville, Tenn.
9. Atlanta
10. Grand Rapids, Mich.
