his picture by Nan Goldin surely has "social redeemable qualities" all of which escape me. If it is good photography, why is a portion of his body cut out of the picture? Why are his dirty underwear given such prominence? Most of all, why could not they have provided a more sanitary bathroom? Perhaps the only time of the day when a man does not look and smell sexy is the hour he does what this man is doing. Yet, with all the above said, there is something that causes the viewer to stop and stare if only for a moment.
